The Honkaku Shochu “Yakushima Daishizenrin Mugi,” produced by Hombo Shuzo Co., Ltd., received the highest honor in the Shochu category, the “Trophy,” at the awards ceremony of the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2023, held in London, United Kingdom, on Tuesday, September 12. This marks the fifth time that Hombo Shuzo has received the top award in the Shochu category. At the awards ceremony, a total of 33 trophies were presented to producers from around the world.

This remarkable achievement marks the fifth time that the Honkaku Shochu produced at Yakushima Denshogura Distillery has been awarded the highest honor, the “Trophy,” in the ISC Shochu category. That a Honkaku Shochu crafted for over half a century at a distillery deeply rooted in its local community has received such a prestigious award is a source of great pride and joy, for which we express our sincere gratitude.
