Hombo Shuzo Co., Ltd. was awarded “Shochu Producer of the Year,” an honor presented to only one producer among shochu manufacturers, at the awards ceremony of the globally renowned spirits competition “International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2023,” held in London, UK, on Tuesday, September 12. At the ISC 2023 Shochu category, Hombo Shuzo received the highest honor, the Trophy, as well as a Gold Outstanding award for “Yakushima Daishizenrin Mugi.” In addition, “Genshu Tamashii no Imo,” “Akanekaze 43,” “Kishogura Cellar Selection,” and “Suibakka” were awarded Gold medals.

Receiving the “Shochu Producer of the Year” award for the second consecutive year is a great honor for our company, whose management philosophy is “the inheritance and innovation of regional culture,” and we would like to express our sincere gratitude. As a producer of authentic shochu, we will continue to give thanks to the climate and culture of Kagoshima, strive tirelessly for further quality improvement, and pursue the challenge of shochu production with a global perspective.
