On Thursday, September 26, Hombo Shuzo Co., Ltd.’s Honkaku Shochu “Yakushima Daishizenrin Mugi” was awarded the “Trophy,” the highest honor in the Shochu category, at the award ceremony for the world-renowned “International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2024” held in London, UK.
This marks the sixth time Hombo Shuzo has received the highest award in the Shochu category. For “Yakushima Daishizenrin Mugi,” this is the second consecutive year winning this award, following 2023. A total of 46 Trophies were presented to manufacturers at the ceremony.

We are proud to announce that our Honkaku Shochu “Yakushima Daishizenrin Mugi” has achieved the remarkable feat of winning the “Trophy,” the highest award in its category, for the second consecutive year at the prestigious International Spirits Challenge (ISC). As “Yakushima Densho Gura,” a distillery rooted in Yakushima for over half a century, we are deeply honored and proud that our Honkaku Shochu has received this prestigious award for two consecutive years.
