New Release: MARS MALT Le Papillon Single Cask Nagasaki-ageha

Hombo Shuzo Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of a new product, “Mars Malt Le Papillon Single Cask Nagasaki Ageha”.
Product Description
“Mars Malt Le Papillon” is a series that uses butterflies native to Japan as a motif to express the beauty of the natural environment and the seasonal climate of Japan that shapes the whisky maturation process. The theme for this release is the “Nagasaki Ageha” (Great Mormon), a large butterfly named after Nagasaki, where it was first collected by Siebold. The cask was selected to evoke a tropical scene, inspired by the image of a female butterfly with whitened wings—often found in Japan’s Nansei Islands—sipping nectar from a hibiscus. Distilled at Mars Tsunuki Distillery in 2019 and matured in a Sherry Cask at the Yakushima Aging Cellar, this single cask was bottled at natural cask strength and is non-chill filtered. It is a rare masterpiece of single cask, single malt whisky.
