New Release: MARS WHISKY Malt Duo TSUNUKI × AKKESHI
Hombo Shuzo Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of “MARS WHISKY Malt Duo TSUNUKI × AKKESHI 2024” from Mars Tsunuki Distillery. This blended malt whisky is created by vatting our own malt whisky with malt whisky exchanged with Kenten Co., Ltd.’s Akkeshi Distillery and aged at Tsunuki.
We seek to explore further possibilities for Japanese whisky and create delicious whisky by transcending the boundaries of distilleries. The “Malt Duo” series involves exchanging malt whiskies, aging them in their respective environments, and vatting them with in-house malt whisky. This release marks the second in the series, following “MARS WHISKY Malt Duo KOMAGATAKE × CHICHIBU 2021”.
Product Description
Mars Tsunuki Distillery and Akkeshi Distillery began distillation in 2016 in Kagoshima and Hokkaido, respectively. In 2018, these two distilleries, with completely different climates and environments, exchanged malt whiskies and began aging them in their respective locations. This bottle is a Blended Malt Japanese Whisky created by vatting “Tsunuki” and “Akkeshi” malts aged at Mars Tsunuki Distillery. Please enjoy this harmonious performance of Tsunuki and Akkeshi, two distilleries that lit the fires of their pot stills around the same time in far-off lands.
