Award: Japan Wine Challenge 2025 GOLD & Best Value Award

“Chateau Mars Shirane Koshu Sur-Lie 2023,” produced by Hombo Shuzo’s Mars Hosaka Winery, received the “GOLD” award at the “28th Japan Wine Challenge (JWC) 2025” held in Tokyo. Furthermore, it was recognized for its excellent balance of quality and price, winning the “Best Value Japanese White Wine (Price range 1,000-1,999 JPY)” award. At the JWC 2025, Hombo Shuzo received awards for a total of seven items: one Gold, one Silver, and five Bronze.

About the JWC (Japan Wine Challenge)

The Japan Wine Challenge was established in 1997 as an independent wine competition. Now in its 28th year, the Japan Wine Challenge is held in Tokyo. Wines submitted from around the world are tasted according to their style and judged fairly by a panel of judges composed of Masters of Wine and other top wine professionals from Japan and abroad. The Japan Wine Challenge is the oldest, most professional, and most prestigious international wine competition not only in Japan but also in Asia. Winning an award here is recognized by the wine industry worldwide. This year, there were over 1,000 entries from 17 countries.
