Hombo Shuzo Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the new release of “Single Malt KOMAGATAKE” from Mars Komagatake Distillery as a new core expression of our single malt Japanese whisky.

Mars Komagatake Distillery was established in 1985 in Miyada Village, at the foot of Mt. Kisokomagatake in the Central Alps mountain range of Nagano Prefecture. Blessed with a cool climate and high-quality water, the distillery, surrounded by a magnificent natural forest, allows its whiskies to mature slowly in the quiet flow of time, continuously creating a diverse range of whisky spirits.

“Single Malt Komagatake” has long been favored as a limited-edition, once-a-year release, prioritizing quality above all. Now, 14 years after resuming distillation in 2011, our efforts in long-term maturation and inventory management have come to fruition, securing a stock of various aged whiskies. This has enabled us to establish a system to supply single malt whisky throughout the year.

This is a single malt whisky that pursues consistency in flavor through the art of blending from the distillery’s wide variety of spirits, inheriting the “refreshing and delicate, yet full-bodied flavor” that “Komagatake” aims for—a clean and rich taste. The birth of the core “Single Malt KOMAGATAKE” allows our customers to enjoy this special dram at any time.

Komagatake, part of the majestic Central Alps. “Single Malt KOMAGATAKE” is the flagship single malt whisky of the “Komagatake” brand, expressing a clean and rich taste. It is an accord of the meltwater filtered through granite rock, the cool, clear air, the rich natural environment, the climate surrounding the distillery, and the skill of its makers. This bottle offers a gorgeous aroma reminiscent of apple tea, apricot, and ripe persimmon, with a smooth palate and a pleasantly lasting finish.
