Jyoto Umeshu is a traditional plum wine with a natural flavor made from fresh green plums. The Ume fruit is carefully selected according to the harvest conditions, such as Nanko-ume, Uguisuku-ume, and Shirakaga-ume. When the Hombo Brewery was founded, there had been a magnificent plum tree in the garden of the head of the family for generations, and the plum wine made from the fruit was renowned for its great taste. The shochu used to make plum wine at that time was the current 'Takaraboshi' shochu, which at the time was branded 'Hoshi'.
