Koshu 20-year Aged
20-Year Aged Koshu in Magnum
Yamanashi Prefecture's Isawa district is a representative fruit-growing area in the prefecture, characterized by well-drained sandy loam soil deposited by the Fuefuki River originating from the Chichibu mountain range, and a warm climate during the growing season. Additionally, the Hosaka district, located at the foot of Mt. Chigadake, belongs to the area with long sunshine hours and a cool, low-rainfall climate, and is a representative wine grape-producing region in the prefecture, benefiting from the winds running through the foothills and slightly viscous soil.
The "Koshu Nijuunen Koshu 1993" was brewed with the theme of "delicious aged Koshu wine," using Koshu grapes from the Hosaka district, known for their rich acidity necessary for long-term aging, and Koshu grapes from the Kofu Basin, known for their abundant sweetness. The 10-year period, known as the boundary for aged wine, involves low-temperature storage in glass-lined tanks for aging. Subsequently, the wine is bottled in magnum bottles with minimal exposure to air, suitable for long-term aging, and undergoes bottle aging for 10 years. This aged wine of the Japanese indigenous grape variety "Koshu" is characterized by a "beautiful golden color developed through aging," "rich aroma evoking the passage of time," and a "matured taste" that cannot be expressed in young
