Yamanashi City Makioka Town is a steep hilly area located in the northeast of the Kofu Basin.
With an elevation of about 700m, the soil in this area overlooking the Fuefuki River, sourced from the Chichibu mountain range, is clayey with many large stones, forming an ideal environment for grape cultivation with long hours of sunlight and large temperature differences between day and night.
Mars Wine has created an elegant style of red wine using Muscat Bailey A grapes from Makioka Town, known for its "pleasant fruity aroma reminiscent of plums and strawberries" and "moderate acidity that tightens the flavor".
