We marinated plums harvested at our own plum orchard, "Tsunukigejiro Plum Orchard," along with ice sugar in black koji jar pots to make this honkaku imo shochu.
We have carefully aged it to bring out the elegant aroma and acidity of the plums and the umami of the imo shochu. To fully enjoy the harmony of these flavors, we have not added any water and kept filtration to a minimum. Please savor the rich and mature luxurious taste.
At Hombo Shuzo, we provide our own plum orchard, "Tsunuki Gejiro Plum Orchard," located in Tsunuki, Kaseda, Minami Satsuma City, to the local community free of charge and entrust the management to local residents.
We purchase the harvested plums and use them to make our own umeshu, actively promoting the use of locally grown plums in the prefecture."
