In 1985, Hombo Shuzo completed the construction of the Mars Komagatake Distillery (formerly known as Mars Shinshu Distillery) in Miyada Village, Kamiina District, Nagano Prefecture, in search of the ideal environment for whisky production. The malt spirit distilled based on the vision of Iwai Kiichiro, who designed our pot still, has been maturing at the foot of the Central Alps Komagatake, under the watchful eye of the majestic nature.

The "Single Malt Komagatake 1986 AGED 30 YEARS Sherry Cask Natural Cask Strength" is a rare 30-year-old single malt whisky that has been vatted from two casks of malt spirit distilled in 1986 and matured in sherry casks.

This bottle, which has walked alongside the history of Mars Komagatake Distillery, offers a highly fragrant and elegant aroma, a dense and sweet fragrance reminiscent of ripe plums, and a mature taste that reflects the certainty of 30 years of history.

The label artwork, "You who wept face down still carry the faint scent of summer fruits - Ikuko," is by the Japanese painter Yasuharu Ikenaga.
