Mars Komagatake Distillery, which began operations in 1985, celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025. To commemorate this milestone, we have created a special single malt whisky that encapsulates the distillery's 40-year history. It is a blend of genshu from four distinct decades—the 1980s, 1990s, 2010s, and 2020s—excluding the dormant period of the 2000s.
Vatting a diverse selection of genshu aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, Sherry casks, and American Oak casks, it is finished non-chill filtered to preserve the authentic flavor.
The nose offers a multi-layered harmony of aromas: sweetness reminiscent of apple jam, ripe apricot, and melon, blending with vanilla and aged oak notes. The palate delivers sweetness like raisins and maple syrup, balanced by a cinnamon-like spiciness and a rich depth evoking sweet chestnuts and chocolate.
