The Mars Komagatake Distillery (formerly known as Mars Shinshu Distillery) is located in the Japan Alps mountain range, where clear air, deep fog, and a variety of wildlife and plants thrive in the rich natural surroundings of Mount Komagatake.
The "Single Malt Komagatake Nature of Shinshu" series is based on the youthful and vibrant malt spirit, expressing gratitude for the blessings of Shinshu and capturing the harmony of new and old malts woven by nature in each bottle.
The theme of the 1st release in the series is the beautiful blue-purple flowers of the representative mountain wildflower of Nagano Prefecture, the "Gentian". This single malt whisky, distilled in 2012 and vatted with malt spirit aged for over 20 years, offers a soft, malty, and dry fruit-like aroma with a rich, deep flavor harmony.
