In November 2016, Mars Tunuki Distillery was established in Tsunuki, Minami Satsuma City. "Single Malt Komagatake Tsunuki Edition" is a single malt whisky that was produced to commemorate the opening of this new distillery.
Distilled at Mars Shinshu Distillery in 2013, the whisky was matured for 3 years in bourbon barrels at Tsunuki's stone warehouse. It is a vatting of 10 casks of malt spirit.
This single malt whisky harmonizes the sweetness from the bourbon barrels with peaty notes, and also offers nuances of fruits such as orange and banana.
