Mizu no mori

Made with Yakushima "Shiroyutaka" Potatoes
Surrounded by the rich natural beauty of the world heritage site, Yakushima Island, is the only handmade kame brewery on the island, "Yakushima Denshogura." Using a kame that has been in existence since the Meiji era, they continue to uphold traditional brewing methods. Their imo shochu, which is made from the soft water of Yakushima and locally grown sweet potato "Shirotoyutaka," expresses the nature of Yakushima. This handcrafted black koji kame brewed shochu has a unique sweetness, richness, and umami, along with a rich aroma from the yeast "Kura no Sei" that has been living in the brewery for many years. The label design is created by the artist Yuuko Takada, who resides in Yakushima.
