"The Lucky Cat" series is created using Mars whisky's blending technique, featuring unique cats as motifs. The fourth release, "The Lucky Cat May," is a blended whisky that has been additionally matured (finished) in barrels previously used for aging umeshu at Mars Tsunuki Distillery, inspired by the eccentric and affectionate female cat "May."

It offers a fragrance reminiscent of fresh green plums and a taste that combines sweetness with a slight bitterness, with a light mouthfeel.

k.Hombo: "On a rainy night in May 2007, my youngest daughter, who was a middle school student at the time, brought home a muddy, round creature she had found. It turned out to be a kitten, and we named her 'May.' Perhaps due to the scary experience she had at that time, May is extremely timid and skilled at disappearing like a ninja. With an overweight body and an eccentric, affectionate personality, what kind of whisky would suit May...? This whisky has been finished in umeshu barrels, enhancing the original blended whisky. The fragrance of fresh green plums reminds me of the day we met her in May, and the taste, combining bitterness and sweetness with a light drinking experience, feels just like May's personality."
