Yakushima Daishizenrin Mugi

Mugi Shochu from Yakushima's Great Forest
Yakushima Denshogura has been in existence since the 20th year of the Meiji era, and it is a traditional handmade shochu brewery for making kame (earthenware pots) and handmade koji, including a koji room. The yeast "Kura no Sei" that inhabits the brewery produces a rich aroma and a flavorful taste unique to traditional handmade shochu. The ingredients include barley carefully grown in the blessings of Yakushima's abundant water and Kagoshima's land. The goal is to bring out the maximum flavor of these ingredients. The deep and gentle flavor evokes the forests of Yakushima. You can enjoy it richly or refreshingly depending on how you drink it, finishing it as a Mugi shochu that brings out the original nuttiness of barley koji and a taste reminiscent of cocoa and honey.
