This is imo shochu made at "Yakushima Denshogura," a handcrafted kame brewery surrounded by the great nature of Yakushima, an island designated as a World Natural Heritage Site. It has a rich aroma and a mellow, flavorful taste unique to the traditional handcrafted brewery, made by carefully fermenting with sweet and soft Yakushima water and high-quality Satsuma sweet potatoes in kame jars. This is a masterpiece created by the Yakushima Denshogura toji with confidence, using the blessings of the rich nature imbued with ancient mysteries.

Kagoshima Honkakushochu Competition aims to improve the quality of honkaku shochu, a specialty product of Kagoshima Prefecture.
Experts, including Kumamoto Regional Taxation Bureau appraisers, conduct blind tastings to evaluate flavor, aroma, and other characteristics. Superior prizes are awarded to outstanding entries in each category: imo, kokuto, kome, and mugi shochu.
