Yakusugi Yakushima Jisugi Cask Aging
The cedar trees nurtured on this island and known as "Jisugi" grow in granite soils with abundant spring water and are known for their highly durable wood. We use these locally crafted barrels at Yakushima Denshogura.
We mature our imo shouchu in the barrels, which are made using traditional handmade clay pot fermentation. This rare, Honkaku shouchu is matured in an environment embraced by rich nature, utilizing resources unique to Yakushima.
